Sioux is a blossoming Rock Diva who resides in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
She put together a Metal Fest for Cheyenne in July, 2008, called Metal on the Rocks," referring to local terrain. There were eight bands from Wyoming and Colorado, and it was an amazing day and night of metal!!! She’s currently working on the Second Annual MOTR, which she hopes will be bigger, louder and more brutal!
Sioux's in the process of writing Night Walker, a foray into the world of Chris Knight, newborn vampire.
Watch for updates about both projects.
In Sioux's own words:
When I was six years old, I would race home from the school bus every day, plop my backside down in front of our big old black and white TV and watch Dark Shadows. I fell madly for my first vampire crush, Barnabas Collins. From that time on, I’ve been fascinated by all things dark and scary, so it’s really no wonder that I’m writing books about vampires.
My life since then has been very eclectic: I’m a music buff. I have people calling me to say, ‘What was the band that did this song?’ and I’ll be able to tell them. I guess I’m a music savant. *shrug* A few years ago, I found and fell in love with the most amazing actor of our time, Johnny Depp. He rocked my world 29JAN05 and I’ve been a happy carrier of JDOCD ever since! I’m also somewhat of a death metal fanatic. Can’t seem to get enough of it! Polish black metal titans Behemoth started this obsession and it just seems to be growing by the day! Music and vampires. That pretty much sums me up.
I’ve been married to the same fabulous guy for 25 years. We’ve got three amazing boys, ages 24, 19 and 14, and I couldn’t be prouder of them. They’re fabulous and fantastic and talented, and before long, I think the world is going to hear about them and be just as enthralled by them. O.K. Proud Mommy moment over. My middle son is currently in the US Army Reserves and will be shipping out to points unknown in the near future. I’m terrified for him, but I’m so proud of his determination to serve this country during these troubled times. He’s quite a man!
Our house is also something of a zoo. We have two beautiful Huskies, Mischa and Rhazim; two cats, ICK Vortex and Kali Ma, and a Blue-Fronted Amazon parrot named Bailey. There’s always something happening here, and while there are days I wish it would be quiet for a while, at least we’re never bored!
We’ve lost a few ’babies’ over the years: Figaro, Tempesstte and Miss Bon Bon. You're loved and missed and will always be part of our family.
My favourite pastimes are reading (duh!), knitting, watching B-rated monster movies (really bad ones - RIP Ed Wood!!), going to as many rock concerts as humanly possible (mosh pits are my friends!), making people step back and examine their thoughts and prejudices just by walking by, and of course, writing. I collect dragons and vampire paraphernalia of all kinds - my office is a disaster of the two!
There’s me. Love me or not, I’m here to stay.
Do what thou wilt.
